A San Francisco resident was arrested after allegedly stealing more than $300 from a Colma business, according to the Colma Police Department.

At 9:47 p.m. on Sept. 5, Colma police officers were informed of a theft as they were patrolling a store in the 5000 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard. The officers learned that a man had taken multiple items without paying and fled through the emergency exit at the back of the store.

The officers subsequently responded to where the suspect was reported to be and detained him. The loss prevention officer informed the officers that the suspect they detained was the correct person.

The suspect was identified as 36-year-old San Francisco resident Jared Green. Police said they located drug paraphernalia on the suspect.

According to Colma PD, Green stole approximately $334.57 worth of merchandise.

Green was arrested for petty theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Green was issued a citation for his charges and then was released on his promise to appear in court.
